Last week we had a lot going on! We had a home swim meet, Splash Dance, the 4th on the Loop parade, and the after-party. A Great-White THANK YOU to Heather Willis and Amanda Audretch for chairing the swim party for our team. I believe it was your best one yet!! We had an amazing turnout for the 4th on the Loop parade! It was HOT, but we did not let it get to us. We had so much fun and team spirit. I couldn’t be prouder of our team! The After-Party was a success! A BIG shout-out to Amy and Josh Finch (and helpers) for chairing the 4th on the Loop food booth!! It was a blazing-hot day, and you kicked fins!! THANK YOU!! I especially want to thank our families for all your support too! All the donations you send in every week after week. We really appreciate it, and so do our kiddos!
o MONDAY – Senior Citizen Monday. Please park farther away from the pool entrance, leaving the closer spots for our seniors. Thank you for your cooperation!
o TUESDAY – HOME Meet vs. St. Bernard Stingrays. Warm-ups 5:15 pm and Meet starts at 6:30 pm. It’s Senior Night and Ice Cream Social! The theme is college/military. We will begin recognitions after warm-ups commence. Families with last names M-Z are asked to donate something to the concession stand. Popular items are fresh fruit, pudding cups, and candy (no chocolate). Every swimmer will get an ice cream cup with or w/o sprinkles once the meet concludes. If you have little swimmers, please make sure you get their ice cream before you leave. WE NEED TIMERS!!!
o Important!! Your swimmer must swim in (minimum) TWO meets to be eligible to swim at Championships. There is no way around this NSSL rule. If your swimmer has only swum in one meet, it is imperative they make it to the 7/7 or 7/14 meet, or they are ineligible to swim in Championships!
o WEDNESDAY – Shark Bites – Snack Mix or Ice Pop. Thank you for all the donations toward Shark Bites this season! The kids really enjoy the after-practice treats!!
o THURSDAY – FUN TEAM EVENT – The Acres, 6:30-8:00. $6.00/pp, 9941 Reading Road. Let’s play miniature golf together, bond as a team, and have a lot of fun!!
o We are waiting on the Championship packet to have final approval from the League. As soon as we get it, we will forward it. The packet will include: warm-up schedule, parking maps, team area designation, guidelines for drop-off and MORE. The start time for the 1st session is 9:00 am and the start time for 2nd session, 4:30 pm. Once the packet is released, we will have a meeting to go over it with everyone and answer any questions.
LOOKING AHEAD:
o SHARK-A-THON collections– Proceeds will go towards purchasing a SET CLOCK. Final turn-in date is Money, 7/19.
o 7/13 – PASTA PARTY & Pre-Champ Hype Party! This is a family-friendly event. Please sign up on Swimtopia. We need a lot of helpers at the stations!! Set up begins at Noon. Food needs to arrive around 12:45 pm. Participants should arrive by 1:00 pm. We will make posters, paint fingernails, apply temporary tattoos, decorate cars, and EAT CARBS, lots and lots of CARBS!!! GO SHARKS!!
o We are in the home-stretch leading up to Championships. The sign-ups to volunteer will be on Swimtopia this week. Everyone, please sign up as soon as it opens. Every family needs to work at least one shift.
o 7/15 - POST CHAMPIONSHIP PARTY is TBD We typically meet at the restaurant and toast to a great two days. Coaches will present the trophy to the team, and we will have a bite to eat. Separate checks will be provided. Hopefully we can secure a place this year…
o 7/17 – AWARDS NIGHT and FAMILY SWIM, 7 pm Rec-Center Old Gym, See SwimT for ALL the details.
